Book Festival in Tbilisi

Last year there was a Book Festival in Tbilisi and my friend took me there. It was in an exhibition hall 11. It's on Tsereteli avenue and all the big events like this are held there. It's a great place.

There were books from different publishing companies. They also had sales on books and I was nicely surprised, when I saw so many people interested in books and actually bought many of them.

There were pretty interesting new books, too, I can say. Well, the tittles and descriptions were interesting to me.

We walked through every pavillion and saw almost every book, I guess. We just didn't want to leave. The environment was so nice and busy _ I like that!

Everyone learns differently and understands differently. Some like watching movies than reading books, and some vice versa. But the main thing is how you enrich your skills by doing something. In my opinion, reading books are more important than watching movies. I enjoy a good story. Reading a book brings many different layers to the telling of a story. The subtleties of language create a mood and a setting, you are transported to a different time and place.

Firstly, everything mentioned in book is so described by author that the story is in your hands and mind. You can imagine everything on your personal way, but when you watch its movie, something in your mind becomes against the film, because that may not be how you imagine it.

Secondly, I get more from reading than I do watching a movie about the same thing. I am currently reading a book that I also have the movie to. The book has a lot more information in it and I wish the movie had those parts too. The parts that were left out helped me understand the concept of the movie better.

Finally, to my mind you gain more knowledge from books than from TV or movies. You enrich your lexical hoard.

In conclusion, given the choice between reading a book and watching a movie I would choose reading a book time and time again. Books have a really important role in our lives. We can’t just get everything, every information or entertainment from TV or Internet. We need books!
