After neurology

The exam

You know about the fast food restaurant chain called Wendy’s, right? So, I guess, everyone knows about it, because it’s in the whole world, everywhere and it’s also very popular, hence, so many people visit it and eat their favourite burgers and stuff like that and they go there with their friends or family members and just have fun. That is a good place for such things, you know. And there you can also have your or your kids’ birthday parties or just parties and stuff like that.

So, it was after our neurology final exam that we went there to kind of celebrate this thing and, at the same time, enjoy ourselves, as we hadn’t really gathered together for a while. And, the main thing here was that I told my sister that I wanted her to taste Wendy’s Strawberry Frosty Parfait, which I tasted once a year or two ago maybe and I liked it really much. So, technically, it was me and my sister to go there in Wendy’s in the first place, then the people came and we decided to go there together. And the other ones were my brother and my groupmates and one our friend, too.

Okay, so we went there by car and it was not  a long ride, you know, it is really near to our Tbilisi State Medical University and that is the largest Wendy’s Restaurant in the world, I must say. There were so many cars parked all around the place, that we were unable to park our car, and then we got off the car and went in the restaurant while my brother would find a place to park a car.

Wendy's restaurant

Going in Wendy’s Restaurant you are amazed by the interior and then you see food all around the corners and it’s just impossible not to want something to eat as they look really delicious, you know. So, I wanted to eat many things, but I knew, that I couldn’t handle all that, and I wasn’t even that hungry, because while we were taking our exams my sister was nearby in Dunkin’ Donuts and she bought Dunkin Khachapuri _ you know, there’s this new thing here, it’s really delicious and it’s really good. Though it was so large that it was impossible for her to eat it to the end and well, she barely had eaten half of it, so she took the other half and, as I hadn’t tasted Dunkin’ Khachapuri yet, I thought, I would eat it, so I ate it. It was really good, I wasn’t expecting it to be that good, I don’t know why, perhaps because of other Khachapuris that are made in bakeries. They don’t taste as good as that one or a homemade one or that one that is baked in good bakeries. Usually I don’t like Khachapuri that much, I prefer Lobiani and I almost never buy Khachapuri anywhere. I just eat that Khachapuri, which I make myself or my aunts make it and that’s what I like to eat. But this one was good. And the price was not that terrible, too, if you consider its size and taste.

Anyways, that was the reason why I wasn’t that hungry at all, and I just wanted to eat what I came there for _ Strawberry Frosty Parfait! I was really looking forward to tasting it again, you know. While others were deciding, I waited for them. There’s these Combo Menus that Wendy’s have here and you can buy 4 things for just 4 Laris, so you can have one of small hamburgers, such as bacon hamburger, chicken hamburger, casual hamburger, cheeseburger, and Coca Cola, ketchup and small fries. That’s a lot if you consider everything. Well, that’s a lot for me and for many people, I know, that it’s not even close to enough! I don’t know how they can eat after this kind of menu, because this includes many things, as you see. So, the girls took those menus, and one of them even took Dunkin’ Donuts new donut here in Georgia, it’s called Nutella donut and she said it was tasty when she ate it. And my sister wanted some fries or something like that and finally she decided that she wanted to have Twisted Fries with ketchup, so we ordered those things and went to tables. Those Twisted Fries were really delicious, they were better than the usual fries, too, if you ask me, and my sister will agree to that, too. And of course, then there was this Strawberry Frosty Parfait, which was really cold like an ice-cream and I ate it slowly, of course, while waiting for my sister to eat her fries, so that she could taste it. Well, she said she didn’t want another one and she would just take some of mine. And I must say, this one serving of Strawberry Frosty Parfait was pretty big and it wasn’t really necessary to order another one, as one would not really eat it to the end if they had already eaten something else, I mean, some food, you know. So, I just ate it slowly and then my sister tasted it, too. She realized, that she had tasted it some other time earlier. I must say, that while eating it and, you know, I was so looking forward to eating it, I noticed, that I didn’t like it that much, that I expected to. I don’t know why, but that was the truth and I was kind of shocked, but it was still good, if you want to know the truth. Well, strawberries are not bad anytime! I just love them. And the combination of creamy stuff and biscuits and strawberries… They are just irresistible for me!

So, we just sat there, talked about a bunch of stuff and laughed and etc. It was good, because we felt like something was finished _ you know, neurology exam _ and it was a great feeling to have something overcome. Although there was this new subject waiting for us the next day again!

Raining outside

You should know, that these days has been raining cats and dogs and it’s becoming quite annoying already. And while we were there in Wendy’s Restaurant, sitting, eating and talking and having fun, it started raining again outside. It was like pouring and no one could survive that rain. It was that bad. However, we had to leave, because everyone had some place to be and everyone had some things to do, I guess, and well, why sit there for a very long time doing nothing, when you can do something useful somewhere?! So we decided to leave, no matter how hard it rained. Well, I told you we came there by car, so it was not that much of a problem and we went home by car, but the others went by foot, because they had some things to do nearby, and the other went by foot, too, but he maybe took some public transport or whatever. Yep, he would definitely take a public transport, or a taxi at least. I must say, that that was the day that he finished his third year at the university. That was the day that he had his last exam and while we had still left so many hours to spend on our curations and then some final exams, he was finally free of those stuff until September and he was very happy and we were kind of jealous of him, of course and, you know, we tried to make him kind of angry at some things, but what could we have done, he was happy and we were to wait for a month and a half I guess for our studies to be finished and finally to enjoy our summer, which may be not exactly called a summer and vacations and stuff like that, because it never is. One has an internship somewhere, or has to study something or do something or it’s just an August and half of July and September that we don’t have a study year officially.

About communication

Anyways, the thing is, we were all happy that day somehow and it was good to hang out and have some fun together. It’s not about food or what we do or what we get or whatever, it’s just that we need to socialize, get together more often, because without communication we are doomed and nothing else matters anymore. But, think, we don’t do that as they used to some years ago and I don’t think that’s going to the right way. Sometimes people just don’t want to socialize and they just scroll down Facebook and are at home and stuff like that, you know. I’m sure many of you do that, but maybe you still go out with your friends or family and have some fun. You know, there’s this good thing here, that students have opportunities to go out and not to just clubs or bars or for drinking and stuff like that, but for cultural events, too, or for educational events, and then there’s this Wednesday, when you can go to the cinema with just paying 5 Laris on whichever showing you want, let that be in the late evening, you just pay 5 Laris for seeing a movie and that’s really cool for everyone, because otherwise it would cost you something like above 12 Laris or so. So, feel the difference here?! Well, that’s a great news. And I hear and see, that many students go to the cinema every Wednesday and they just see the movies and, well, they gather together, right?! And they have fun, they communicate with each other, they see each other in person, not on Internet and online and on Facebook or stuff like that! There are even events, when they hand out, such as some festivals they call it. Some weeks ago there was this wine festival here in Tbilisi. I went there, too. There were many people and youths were there, too, looking at different cellars’ wines and enjoying the event. They always go to the Flea Market on Sundays, too, and, while I have been wanting to go to that event, I haven’t been able to visit it yet, but since it’s summer and soon I won’t have to go to university lectures and have many things done, perhaps I will have time to go there and maybe I will have a chance to take some of my artcrafts with me there just for show, or maybe I could sell some of them, too. You know, you can exhibit your stuff there and at the same time, sell some things of yours, if you want and if people are interested! There are some pretty good stuff there, I’ve heard, and there are so many different things at the same time that you won’t want to leave that place. It usually takes place near the House of Justice, where Dedaena Park and exhibition and Dry Bridge are and the surroundings are just the same, I mean, the exhibition is full of Georgian artists’ paintings and crafts and the Dry Bridge is full of different stuff that you might not meet in any other place. It’s a place which tourists love very much, I guess, because they always wander there and find some really interesting and unique things.

Anyways, what I’m saying is, that people need to socialize even more and those kind of events let me believe, that we are not living in a virtual world and that we can communicate in real life. That is the hope. Because living virtually is not something that is going to do us any good.
