The city is very cheap to live and study, But job prospects are very low for coming students and people. Hard and gentle jobs are well paid. Overall, tashkent is the best place to people who got money. The more the better :)

Accommodation will not be a problem, here are plenty of options. From 150$ per month. The only thing, the more comfortable accommodation the more expensive.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food in Uzbekistan Will certainly be a favorite for prospective students. In my mind Palov is the most energizing food for anyone. I have to say that, DO NOT GO ANY RESTAURANTS OR SOMEWHERE ELSE. THE CHEAPEST FOODS ARE THE MOST DELICIOUS.
