What is it like to live in Taipei? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

taipei is a modern city, very convenient with the metro (6 a. m-24)and bus system. and also has many 24/7 family mart& 7-11(convenience store)

the city is full of surprise you can find mixed old&modern building.

and people there are very kind and heartwarming. foreigner will easily fit in.

What is the student lifestyle like in Taipei?

if you organize your schedule well you can travel the whole Taiwan (not just Taipei) within those days off.

and those student work aren't so heavy (i think)

How much does it cost to live in Taipei?

Taipei is much more expensive than other cities in Taiwan

but if your university isn't located in taipei city but around it. it should be much cheaper.

as my friend's experience rent a dorm around Fu Jen University a month cost about 5, 000 NT dollars.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Taipei? Is there any advice you can give?

not difficult at all. First, every universities have their own dorm in or out their campus, plus there are also lots of landlord surround the university.

if you aren't going to stay a little further. that's still fine again the metro and bus system are fine.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Taiwan's foods are known as delicious, not expensive.

What places would you recommend visiting in Taipei?

you can reach approximately 80% spots in taipei by metro. like 西門町, 台北車站, 國父紀念館, 中正紀念堂, 貓空, 寧夏夜市, 士林夜市 etc etc etc. just take your time here and explore.

Is it good to eat out in Taipei? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

in my opinion, find those small restaurant in the valley. they will always surprise you.

Is the nightlife good in Taipei? Where is good to go?

in taipei yes! lots of stores open until midnight. and 信義區 has lots of clubs.

and people in Taiwan love late night snack ＝宵夜（in case you want to google it）

What advice would you give future students heading to Taipei?

words can not fully explain what you feel. My advise is throw yourself here you'll live.
