What is it like to live in Stuttgart? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
A city that really has to be discovered first. People seem to be shy at first and the city is well-structured. However, once explored, it's a wonderful place offering a lot to do and lots of love.
What is the student lifestyle like in Stuttgart?
Hipsters, hipsters, a workaholic, hipsters...
How much does it cost to live in Stuttgart?
If you find a shared flat or make it to receive some housing in the students' area, you're lucky... To be honest, it's hard finding something there which is affordable.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Stuttgart? Is there any advice you can give?
Apply early to the students' housing (Studierendenwerk) and even go there in person. That's usually the best way. Unfortunately there are a lot of liars concerning appartement listings and advertisements. But they are easy to expose. A good website for finding accommodation is WG-Gesucht.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Again hipsters and kebab stores. But if you leave the centre, there are plenty of restaurants of different kinds of cuisine.
What places would you recommend visiting in Stuttgart?
Feuersee is a really nice place to spend the morning or day.
Is it good to eat out in Stuttgart? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes, Lumen, Ego or Palast der Republik.
Is the nightlife good in Stuttgart? Where is good to go?
Palast der Republik for the beginning and from there on, most students go to 1210 or Schräglage.
What advice would you give future students heading to Stuttgart?
Take your hipster stuff and stay optimistic - you'll have an awesome time.
