What is it like to live in Estrasburgo? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
I think it's a beautiful city, actually I don't know one person who told me he/she doesn't like Strasbourg, Strasbourg is especially well appreciate by international students. Here you can find a really good quality of life.
What is the student lifestyle like in Estrasburgo?
There are a lot of parties for students, events, especially the first week of your courses, there are a lot of pubs, but it s true it's not a big big town, so there aren't 1000 nightclubs, there are only a few which are good.
How much does it cost to live in Estrasburgo?
It's not so expensive, I actually still live with my family but I have friends who have their own accommodation and they told me it's around 800 eu, of course, it depends of your ability to manage your money. And I think all international student told me that there is a big plus, because you can buy all your food in Germany (Kehl, between the center and Kehl there is 10min)
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Estrasburgo? Is there any advice you can give?
Yes and no, there are a lot of accommodation for student (Esplanade... ), but there are also a lots of students, so try to look in advance.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
In shops you can find a lot of cheese, meat, vegetable, fruit, you can find everything.
What places would you recommend visiting in Estrasburgo?
Definitely the cathedral, la Petite France which is a lovely historic place.
Is it good to eat out in Estrasburgo? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
You can find all style of food, there are a lot of pizza (we love that), burgers, Chinese.., le Gayot is a really good pub, there are also a lot of Irish pubs, if you like burger you really gonna enjoy Strasbourg: go to the Public House, 231 east, le Brasseur, and I think the speciality of Strasbourg is of course 'les tartes flambé'.
Is the nightlife good in Estrasburgo? Where is good to go?
Yes, you have a lot of bars but not a lot of nightsclubs which are good only a few, like le Café des Anges, la Salamandre.
What advice would you give future students heading to Estrasburgo?
Go out, meet people, be there the first week of your course, there are a lot of events organised for new students and parties.
