What is it like to live in Strasbourg? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Strasbourg is my home town but also my favorite French city! It is a very student city where it is good to live, the student district is full of places to have fun, to have a drink or to eat well. There is also a lot of architecture full of history, big parks and a lot of water. It's really very pleasant.

What is the student lifestyle like in Strasbourg?

In Strasbourg it's really easy to make friends. The campus is big, the diversity too. A group on facebook "étudiant de strasbourg" can help any foreigner to make friends, find an activity or an accommodation easily.

How much does it cost to live in Strasbourg?

It depends if you live with a roommate or alone. For a roommate the prices vary between 300 and 450€ the room I think. transport is more expensive than in other cities but strasbourg is a city where most people travel by bike so I advise you to get a bike rather than a streetcar pass.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Strasbourg? Is there any advice you can give?

I recommend the facebook group for students in Strasbourg, where there are often ads for accommodation. Otherwise on the internet, I don't know much about it.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I love to eat Asian food and it's perfect because Strasbourg is full of all kinds of restaurants. There is a lot of choice which is really cool.

What places would you recommend visiting in Strasbourg?

The city center, the petite france, the neuestadt, the krutenau, the contades... there are many things to see in strasbourg even if it is not a very big city.

Is it good to eat out in Strasbourg? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

My favorite places: Matsumotoya for Japanese food, Starling burger for a fast-food, Pop&lino for a pizza !

Is the nightlife good in Strasbourg? Where is good to go?

Wawa or public house (PH) for bars. And after jimmy’ or la reserve. I also advise to take the streetcar D to go to Kehl and enjoy Gold a great club.

What advice would you give future students heading to Strasbourg?

It's a great city to spend your student years in, I recommend it 1000%. (the cafet of the university of economy serves cheap beers ;) )
