Why did you choose to go to Strasbourg, France?

It is in the centre of Europe which allows you to travel. It is a small city so it is very manageable but not boring.

How long did your grant last? How much money did you recieve?

A year. Very little money.

How is student life in Strasbourg?

It is 100% a student city. There are many advantages and things to do for students.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Strasbourg to other students?

Absolutely yes.

How is the country's food?

Really good. Alsatian cuisine is consistent yet very rich.

Was is difficult to find accommodation in Strasbourg?

No, I am in student halls.

How much did it cost to live in Strasbourg?

It depends on where you live. The food in the university restaurants is very cheap and very good (3 euros 20 for the entire menu). Expenses not including accommodation come to around 250 euros.

How did you find the language? Did you do a course at the University?

Yes, at the university you can do many courses.

What is the most economic way to travel to Strasbourg from your home city?

Flying to Basel from Madrid.

Which places would you recommend going to in order to experience the night-life in Strasbourg?

There are loads and they aren't very expensive (no more than 5 euros).

And to eat in Strasbourg? Can you tell us your favourite places?

The university restaurant 'Gallia del AFGES', the university restaurant 'Foyer Catholique' (recommended at weekends), the Stift, the restaurant 'Au brasseur', 'Flam's, 'Paul'...

And where to go for cultural visits?

The Alsatian museum, the museum of history, Rohan palace, the cathedral, the museum and the cathedral museum, the archaeological museum... The theatre and the opera are at very affordable prices if you are a student (no more than 10 euros).

Any advise to give to future students in Strasbourg?

Think about buying a bike when you arrive. It is the best way of transportation. You will also need umbrellas, raincoats, etc.
