Stockholm: the perfect setting
The city of Stockholm is trendy. There are many books that have described it in detail during the last decades and, especially in the recent years. The portrait of this city is always related to the darkness and the mystery since it is one of the main stages of the best stories of crime novels or thrillers.
Swedish crime novels have become an icon of the country and its culture. The only idea that I had before coming to Sweden about its society was the one I got after reading Stieg Larsson´s novels of the Millennium trilogy.
It consists of such a long books which, however, take a short time to read, since it is very easy and enjoyable to follow the plot. The three novels are;The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo;,;The Girl Who Played With Fire;, and;The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest;.
The stories take place around the whole country (Uppsala, Gothenburg... ) but, it in Stockholm where the main action takes place. I remember when I read the books and I was not even able to pronounce the names of the streets and squares which were mentioned. When I came to Sweden, I was strangely familiar with the fact that they were all ending with -gatan...
After having been a few months here, I've had time to explore all the places where Salander and Blomkvist lived their entire history. If you are fan of Millennium, follow me and I'll show you the most famous locations of the movies and the books!
