Together with Valvurga it is one of the biggest parties in Sweden, as well very typical. Lucy is celebrating on 13th of December and it represents light in the dark of the winter and in the cold.
It is a very ancient tradition and celebrated every year in Sweden. It is quite amazing to see a girl, Lucy, with some children behind her… and everybody is on silence.
Lucy election is also so popular and expecting in Sweden. People make some competitions and you can see on TV, radio, newspapers… the results.
Every city and every town in the country has a Lucy. It usually is not linked with beauty; an important fact that shows Swedish society is more advanced that Spanish one.
