Monuments in Riga

Riga is the biggest city in the Baltic countries and the most active in art, culture… It has some very beautiful and medieval streets where I recommend you to lost in. It was one of the things I love the most. Anyway, you have very different places to visit, specially I will recommend you two: Black heads square and freedom monument.

Black heads is a square in the centre of Riga. It is the most typical square in the city and it appears in all the postcards, as well in the visitor pictures…

Freedom monument is a 42 meters statue that symbolizes the independence of Leetonia. It is a monument dedicated to all the Laths soldiers who died in the Independence War. It was built in 1935 and now is one of the tallest sculptures in the world.
