What is it like to live in Sliema? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Sliema is the heart of Malta. It is very popular with tourists and locals alike. Lovely atmosphere with cafes, bars and lots of shops.

A lovely Maltese church is located in this central area. There are daily tours on boats to Malta's sister Island Comino by the seafront.

What is the student lifestyle like in Sliema?

Students love Sliema. It is a great meeting place and provides a unique atmosphere.

How much does it cost to live in Sliema?

Property and rentals are expensive in this area. A property can easily cost over half a million to a million euros and over.

Rentals range between seven hundred euros to over a thousand per month.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Sliema? Is there any advice you can give?

It is extremely difficult to find accomodation in Sliema in Summer when Malta is packed with tourists and English language students.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Many restaurants and fast food outlets exist in Sliema.

Local Maltese food includes fresh fish, pasta, timpana, bragioli, rabbit and other delicacies.

What places would you recommend visiting in Sliema?

I would recommend tourists visit the side streets in Sliema close to Tigne Point to appreciate the older buildings in this area.

Is it good to eat out in Sliema? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

There are really good restaurants in Sliema especially at Tigne Point.

Chophouse is a favorite.

Is the nightlife good in Sliema? Where is good to go?

Sliema is not renowned for its nightlife as there are not cafes and bars. However St. Julian's and Paceville are in the vicinity and border close to this area. The night life is mainly in Paceville.

What advice would you give future students heading to Sliema?

A lovely place to visit and to meet up with friends.
