Situated behind the main library, the Casa das Imagens Lauro António, is a media library and archive that shares part of the filmmaker's personal archive with the public.

Lauro António, born on August 18, 1942 is a Portuguese director and producer, best known for Morning Undersea (1980), A Bela e a Rosa (1983) and O Vestido Cor de Fogo (1985).

In this beautifully restored small building, you can browse through the extensive library of films, audiovisual, TV publications as welll as comics and cartoons bequested by Lauro Antonio to the library.

The media library has a film collection of 1500 VHS cassettes and 10,000 DVD and Blu-Ray, in addition to CDs, vinyl records, audio cassettes, posters, photographs and advertising material for films.

Entry is free. A great stop to any film buff!
