What is it like to live in Seoul? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Seoul is one of the most developed cities in Asia. There is no doubt you will have the best urban life. In the city, everything is fast. The fastest internet, the fastest public transportation. Because of this, Seoul people tend to hurry in everything. It would take a while to get used to it. But once you used to it, you will like it.

What is the student lifestyle like in Seoul?

There are lots of things to do, especially for students.

Lots of museums and art galleries have exhibitions every week. Also, there are lots of bars that you can make friends. I recommend you Itaewon and Hongdae.

Moreover, there are lots of students who want to learn about foreign cultures. You can find some people who want to exchange language.

How much does it cost to live in Seoul?

If you are trying to get your place off-campus, it will cost about $600. I don't know much about university's dormitory, but it is much cheaper and clean.

If you eat out, it would cost $7~10.

Public transportation costs about $1. 5 for one-way ticket. You will spend around $30~40 in a month.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Seoul? Is there any advice you can give?

Nope. There are hotels everywhere. But I highly recommend you to get hostels. Because it's much cheaper. Hotels in Korea is more than $100.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

It's good. Even though you never tried Korean food before, I guarantee that you will like it (only when you don't try spicy food).

Seoul has lots of international franchises. (ex : Burgerking, McDonald's, Tacobell). So you don't have to worry about food.

What places would you recommend visiting in Seoul?

Kyungbok-kung (경복궁). It is the royal palace of Chosun Dynasty. It's really beautiful and can feel traditional Korean culture at there.

Is it good to eat out in Seoul? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I can't remember.. But I know you have YELP.

Is the nightlife good in Seoul? Where is good to go?

Absolutely. You don't need to make plans. Just get off at 'Itaewon'station or 'Hongdae'station. You will find how Koreans enjoy their night.

What advice would you give future students heading to Seoul?

Most of Koreans are not good at speaking English. You have to be good at either Korean or English (or both). Because Korea has their own language, you might find out that it is harder to travel than other country. There will be Korean everywhere. At least, if you can speak english, that's fine. There would be a lot of Korean who will help you.
