Why did you choose to go to Sendai, Japan?

To help for the reconstruction of the tsunami devasted area.To be in a big city while also being in the nature with beautiful natural landscape. To know more about Japanese traditional culture. To study architecture in a laboratory of Tohoku university

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

the scholarship is 10 months and we recieve almost 80000 Yen/month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Sendai?

a lot of wonderfull field trip in Miyagi, interessant work in class (you can learn the Japanese and the culture), party with international students. The life is very healthy, you can go to school by bycicle and the city is very "green".

Would you recommend the city and the University of Sendai to other students?

yes I recommend the city and tu University of Tohoku to other students. I am living an amazing experience.

What is the food like?

Good ! a lot of fish, sushi, Ramen... the speciality here is the beef tongue.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Sendai?

I am in a dormitory provided by the university, this is the cheepest and the best place for students.

How much does it cost to live in Sendai?

It can cost less than 80 000 Y/ Months, depend on your activities.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Japanese is very difficult but people can speak a little bit english and in case of emergency, japanese tutor or japanese flatmates can help you. They are very kind and comprehensive.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Sendai from your city?

from Paris to Tokyo I took the aiplane and from Tokyo to Sendai I took the bus (very cheep)

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Sendai?

we are always going to Kokubuncho.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Sendai?

they are too many !
