Experience in Santa Clara, United States by Brittany Rose
What is it like to live in Santa Clara? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
If you attend Santa Clara University, then YES! It's a small college town, almost kissing downtown San Jose, and right across the street is the Caltrain that can take you to San Francisco in one hour.
What is the student lifestyle like in Santa Clara?
Santa Clara is known as a prestigious and challenging university in the Bay Area. The campus is gorgeous, and the students work hard and party hard. Bellomy street is party central when it comes to house parties.
How much does it cost to live in Santa Clara?
Shared rooms you can find for around $500 - $600 per month.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Santa Clara? Is there any advice you can give?
I would say no. There is a Facebook Group where all students post when they are looking for rooms, roommates, or have rooms to lease and/or sublease.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Santa Clara campus food is absolutely phenomenal. I've seen dinners having lobster, and wednesday is always sushi day. There are cafes scattered throughout campus serving coffee, pastries, fruits, yogurt, and sometimes smoothies and boba tea.
Is it good to eat out in Santa Clara? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Lots of spots marketed for students. Pizza My Heart, Wicked Chicken, White Elephant (Thai food), Ike's Sandwiches, Rosalina's (great breakfast burritos although not exactly walking distance from campus).
Is the nightlife good in Santa Clara? Where is good to go?
Bellomy Street for sure.
If you're 21, the usual school bars are:
The Hut, on Tuesdays
Blinkys and The Claron (neighbors) on Thursdays
Everything on Friday and Saturday
