What is it like to live in San Salvador? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Living in San Salvador at the moment I would be very careful of where i go and the place you choose to live in. robberies are very common in public transportation specially. The city is very active and there're a lot of things to do and if you know where to go you'll be safe.
How much does it cost to live in San Salvador?
You need about $350 to $400 to live in San Salvador if you find a house that rents rooms for students. This amount would cover food and different expenses.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in San Salvador? Is there any advice you can give?
It's not difficult for students. there are usually rooms for rent that are not too expensive. if they are looking for apartments or houses it will take some time to find something suitable for a student.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food in San Salvador is amazing. There are pupusas that is a traditional dish here in el salvador. You can also go to the mall and find a lot of restaurants. my favourite dishes are pupusas and yuca.
What places would you recommend visiting in San Salvador?
I would recommend going to the volcano thats close by, San diego beach, el tunco and la costa del sol.
Is it good to eat out in San Salvador? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Its good to eat out. you can go to caliches which sells sea food and steak, to la pampa, plaza volcan, buffalo wings, benningans and other restaurants like arriero.
Is the nightlife good in San Salvador? Where is good to go?
The nightlife is good but you have to be careful where you go. Alive, TREND, Chafa and other clubs for dancing and drinking. There is also la Herradura if you want to go out but not dance.
What advice would you give future students heading to San Salvador?
If you are heading to san salvador, just be mindful of where you are locating and how you are going to get around. Although there is transportation to almost anywhere not all bus routes are safe and cabbing everywhere is not the most the best decision for saving money.
