I'm from San Luis Potosí and I can tell you that it's a good place to live, it's small and there's a lot of places to explore. It's in the centre of Mexico, which makes it easier to get to any other part of the country for as cheap as possible.

What is the student lifestyle like in San Luis Potosí?

It's pretty nice, there's a lot of partying and freedom of thought. We have a lot of freedom to choose which area we want to grow in, you can work at the same time as being a student.

It's easy to find accommodation in San Luis, there are a lot of apartments near the university area.

What is the food like there? What are some of your favourite dishes?

It's the best food in the world, without a doubt.

Where would you recommend to visit in San Luis Potosí?

The Huasteca Potosina area is full of waterfalls, lagunas and tropical landscapes. There's also the Altiplano, where the climate is warmer and desert-like, but that has its own unique culture and traditions, there's a lot to explore in the state.

And to eat in San Luis Potosí? What are some of your favourite places to go?

There are a lot of shopping centres that have a lot of variety of food, although if you want to try the Potosí gastronomy, I'd recommend visiting the city centre for the markets or the small establishments, but be careful, not all foreigners take our food very well, it's very spicy and fatty, which is difficult to eat.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in San Luis Potosí?

There are a lot of clubs in the Chapultepec area, which are great for university students and I have to flag up to you that actually the most common thing is to go to parties at friends' or acquaintances' houses. The state is the state in which the young people consume the most alcohol, so you can buy whatever alcohol you want for cheap.

Find out how to get around by public transport, it's a very safe state, where you can walk around in the streets without feeling afraid and if you want a quality education, the UASLP is the best option.
