Top Tips: Leisure time

You are ready with the task at the university; it is time to slow down so try to enjoy the environment where you are living in. It is just one year and certainly you will find hundreds of activities which are either rare or you just never thought about them in your home city but in your new Erasmus emplacement they may be common and enjoyable. Plus, is there any better way to meet local people and learn the language than spending some time having fun?

Nothing better for your brain to take a rest than sport. Take a pass on the individual sports and enroll in a team sports. It is better if you know already how to play because you will not be the outsider stranger anymore and your team mates will pass you the ball. But do not underestimate traditional sports because you will find out that most of them are exciting!

The cultural flow may be two-directions. Rain and snow cannot discourage you at all. Cards are part of the Spanish culture so pack your deck and have fun with your new friends.

Are you aware of the local demands? Surely you may find an association in your neighborhood where you could help them out with little tasks or voluntary aid; many small people making many small things means a lot.

What about museums? Although the quietness of a museum does not really help to learn a language, still is something attractive to do. In England are free!

Maybe it is not that hard. Have a look to the swap language meetings. Easy and accessible idea to have a nice talk.

If you have budget flight company next to your city, do not dismiss it. The Erasmus year has not borders and Europe has a long history to show.

People say that Erasmus students live in a constant party. It is nothing but a cliché and they just do it for the sake of the language improvement because parties are made to socialize and meet new people. However bear in mind that it is much more enriching when you break the Erasmus bubble and you take part of the city and the city is part of you.

As you read there is not room to either sadness or boredom. Just enjoy it!
