The story of the crazy roadtrip to Finland with my friends. We traveled by car and stayed in a tent and a motel during the trip.

November 24 - 26

It's day 1, 6:00 am, here we go, ready for takeoff, for the long planned roadtrip to Finland. Day 1 consisted of a lot of traveling. We quickly glazed through Kautokeino during a stop at the gas station. Saw a lot of reindeer on the way, which made traveling a bit risky, since hitting one is a) dangerous and b) you have a big legal problem if you hit or kill one, since they are privately owned by the Sami people. We ate lunch in the Pallas National Park and then continued our way to Levi. Levi is a beautiful skiing town, famous for its skiing events. Inga and YoYo went skiing and snowboarding during the day, Ragnhild and I went souvenir shopping in the city. It is a really cozy town and I would really advice visiting it whenever in Finland. In the evening we searched for a camping spot on the way to Rovaniemi. After getting kicked out of our first place, we found one next to a parking place next to the road. We stamped on the snow to make it flat enough to pitch the tents, got everything ready and went to sleep. The next morning, we drove to Rovaniemi. Which is a big city compared to Alta. So we had a lot to see. We went to visit Santa Clause in the Santa Clause Village, then went reindeer sledding and normal sledding. In the evening we stayed at a motel, which we had pre booked. The next morning, we did quick groceries before leaving for home, since everything is cheaper in Finland! And in the evening we arrived safely in Alta again.
