What is the student lifestyle like in Rostock?

It's completely student friendly city full of students, so everyone can feel the buzz here.

You can see lots of student on the streets with their bikes. And regular student meeting are held during the week, in different places.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Rostock to other students?

Yes, indeed.

It is great place to have a complete experience with a combination of fun and study together.

I bet that one will miss this place after leaving it.

What is the food like?

Rostock is a typical east German city, so you could not expect like multicultural and continental foods all around the city, but there are some good restaurants.

You can find German bakeries almost in every corner of the city. And I am telling, you it's really good. Everyday I buy a sandwich from there, and I love it.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Rostock?

No, it doesn't cost anything and specially for Erasmus students, there is a great community and organization which always helps students in every sort of situation, regardless the issue (rostock).

This is my recommendation to all students, who are looking forward to coming to Rostock... please register yourself here and get in touch with this organization.

How much does it cost to live in Rostock?

It depends on an individual. But for a "normal" budget for a student it will be 400-600 euro per month. Also, it depends on the accommodation you select.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, there are language courses available at the university. I am not the appropriate person to answer this question, because I haven't join any of them :P

Nevertheless, there are also other options available for students to grasp language quickly. There are also meeting with German students and other foreign students who are learning the language. One can join such groups.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Rostock from your city?

I think the most economical way to travel to Rostock is by cheap flights (RayanAir) and cheap train (Group tickets of DB bahn). But it varies according to the location from where you come.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Rostock?

There are lots of nice places, like pubs and night clubs. Some of them are quite near to the University and the city center so no one can have difficulties at night for travelling.

Some of the night clubs are really cool.. This people love partying, with great music and a beer. So get ready for it.
