Rijeka is a lovely city. During summer there are a lot of cultural events in which most people would enjoy.

What is the student lifestyle like in Rijeka?

Student lifestyle is good. There aren’t many clubs, but a lot of bars and pubs offer different kinds of party.

How much does it cost to live in Rijeka?

Rijeka is expensive. If you go out and eat, prices vary depending on the choice of local restaurant. But, the food is great! You can eat pizza at most of restaurants, sushi place, Chinese food, Mexican food...

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Rijeka? Is there any advice you can give?

No it is not. There are student residences (or dormitories) where you can stay for a low price.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

As I said, food is great. If you want to eat in a bakery, a lot of good Croatian products won’t dissapoint you!

What places would you recommend visiting in Rijeka?

I would reccommend going to the Trsat castle where you can see entire city from the top of it. Also, a nice walking route on Terminal is very romantic.

Is it good to eat out in Rijeka? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

My favourite spot is Pacalinka-there you can eat pancakes with any sweet you want. Also, Cacao bar provides huge choice of cakes. The Boonker is a restaurant-bar on the coast and it is very comfortable to spend summer evenings there.

Is the nightlife good in Rijeka? Where is good to go?

I wish there are more clubs, but nightlife is good. Every Tuesday there is Đir po starom gradu-an event when students go out and hang out in the old city center.

What advice would you give future students heading to Rijeka?

If you want to try Croatian dishes, Rijeka is just for you. Not so much city of party, but cultural differencies make this city very enjoable. You will like your staying in Rijeka, I’m sure.
