Best gelato in Italy

What do you love the most? I do not know about you but I love food lmao. I mean, if you ask me what my favorite dish is I do not know what to answer, it would take too much time to even narrow it down to five answers. Anyhow, today let's talk about ice cream, actually, about gelato. Yes, because gelato is different than ice cream. How? I can not really explain that, but it is. I have been living in the USA and ice cream is usually in a cup, like a Wendy's Frosty or a Dairy Queen Blizzard. In Italy, we usually eat gelato cones, with two or three scoops. I love it. The "rule" is that you normally eat ice cream during summer because it is hot, but I eat it pretty much the whole year around. There is something particular to summer and southern Italy, and that is Brioche Gelato.

The best...

Brioche is basically a croissant stuffed with ice cream. Yesterday I went to Reggio Di Calabria, the town that faces Sicily. I have never been there before (I may have when I was little but I did not have a memory of it, at all). I imagined it in my head differently and I am so glad to say that it is far from what I imagined. Its lungomare is called "the best kilometer in Italy" because... it is just beautiful! The view over to Sicily is breathtaking (and even more beautiful at night). The lungomare is not the only best thing they have, apparently they also have the best gelato in the whole country.

Gelato Cesare

Gelato Cesare won a contest as the best gelato in Italy, so my family and I wanted to test it and see if it was actually true. Well, it was, for only three euros and fifty cents we got a huge brioche with two flavors. The good thing is also that they have many flavors and they are unique, you can not really find these flavors that much. One of these is "Italico" which is a combination of three gelatos: fig, ricotta, passito (wine). According to what an employee said, this flavor was exported even to the USA where it just started to be famous, is one of my readers a New Yorker and can confirm?

Best Gelato in Italy

My brioche was stuffed with Pan di Stelle and Mandorla. They also serve cones and cups for those who do not want to go all the way with a huge and yummy brioche.
