What is it like to live in Reading? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Reading is a great student city, full of life and a very fun atmosphere on campus. Although the city itself isn't that beautiful, it's full of restaurants and clubs, there is always something fun to do. It's also only a 25 min train journey to London.

What is the student lifestyle like in Reading?

I personally loved the student lifestyle, especially in my second year when I lived in a house with my friends. There is something fun going on almost every night!

How much does it cost to live in Reading?

As it's close to London, quite a bit. I spent around £400 on rent a month (excluding bills).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Reading? Is there any advice you can give?

It's quite easy to find. The university makes it very easy to find halls and if you want to live in a house you simply go to the local estate agent, I found it very easy.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food at the Oracle (the local shopping centre) is deliscious, and Reading is full of takeaways if you prefer to stay in.

What places would you recommend visiting in Reading?

There are quite a few museums e. g. The museum of rural life, and there was an Oscar Wilde exhibition at the local prison.

Is it good to eat out in Reading? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Wagamamas, CAU, Nando's

Is the nightlife good in Reading? Where is good to go?

Very good! The university club (union) is the most frequented place, as well as Q club, matchbox, Lola Lo's etc...

What advice would you give future students heading to Reading?

Try and make good friends who you can have fun with, enjoy the clubs, the friendly campus and the deliscious food!
