What is it like to live in Pune? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Located in the heart of Sahyadri mountains and surrounded by seven hills Pune is one of the cities known in India for fine weather and holiday homes. With growing economy and IT professional services this city is one of the first choices of Professionals and Students from all over the country. An all round the year weather is what brings people here. Night clubs, body art artists, art centers, are major attractions.

What is the student lifestyle like in Pune?

Pune hosts best educational institutions and large population of students from India and internationally. Its considered as the oxford of the east. Students study hours are short and have lots of free time to do things around. They mostly have two wheelers to move around which is a must and cheaper decision. Its safe to travel in Pune and surrounding areas of the city.

Actually it is very affordable to live in Pune. On an Avgerage monthly expenses can run to around Rs 40,000(including rental) and still have enough left to spend around.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Pune? Is there any advice you can give?

Pune has no lack of available apartments. being a student city in India there are always various options available for students. Renting accomodations is easy and not expensive.
I would suggest Koregaon Park and Kalyani Nagar as the best places to rent as this the heart of Pune and is the first choice by both Indian and international students.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is mild and healthy but not of distinct taste. Though you will find almost all specialities of India and international cuisines. Food is cheap and accesible locally and by door to door service at no cost.

What places would you recommend visiting in Pune?

M.G. road For shopping
Koregaon Park for Dining, Clubbing and Cafes.
Pune Race Course - wednesdays and saturdays.

Is it good to eat out in Pune? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Food as i have already said is not great. But if you are looking for good food I would suggest to go to Chinese room on MG road, Burgers barn Cafe Koregaon Park.

Is the nightlife good in Pune? Where is good to go?

Pune has one of the highest number of clubs in India. Here u can safely visit clubs late at night. Fridays and saturdays are fully packed. Toons on MG road is the best place for beer lovers and rock music and of course Koregaon Park has the best nightlife all round the week.

What advice would you give future students heading to Pune?

Guys i would say if you looking for good education and great student life this is one of the best places in India and the best part is almost every student here speaks in English language making it easier to communicate with students. If you come here stay within the New city areas like MG road, Koregaon park, mundhwa, kalyani nagar, vimananagar as the other place u will find rude locals who do not treat outsiders from India and foreigners very well. All in all its student centered cities in India and of course if on weekends you wish to travel to Mumbai which is just 3 hours away from the city.
