Time's running out..
As already assumed, the next morning it was raining. We were both still tired from the trip the day before, so we stayed in bed a little longer. Even if my boyfriend really wanted to get up into the mountains I told him that it would not make any sense with that bad weather, so we decided to go to a shopping centre and buy some things to eat and for my appartment. Afterwards I wanted to go to a "Guachinche" with him, a traditional restaurant of Tenerife a bit in the mountains.
So after a short breakfast and a shower we went to the parking of the car and started our trip. As it was saturday and monday would be a national holiday, there were so many people at the Shopping Centre. But we found a parking lot and entered the centre. It is quite a nice shopping centre with a lot of stores and a large supermarket. We went to Zara first in order to look for a suit for my boyfriend's presentation a few weeks later and spent some time there trying clothes. I enjoyed our time together so much but the fact that there was only one more day left with him became bigger and bigger in my head.
After having paid we went to the large supermarket to buy some missing things like towels, mugs and knifes for my appartment. We also bought some food for the dinner because he wanted to cook something. Afterwards we just walked a bit around the centre but as we had a lot to carry we returned to the car soon. After having stored everything in the car I entered the adress of the Guachinche into my mobile phone and we started our way to that place a bit higher in the mountains. It was not a long drive, and after I had tought that it is closed because I looked at the wrong door, we finally found the entrance. It was still raining a lot and when we arrived at the restaurant's door we were half wet. It was 1pm and apparently everyone was hungry and had the same idea as we had - we had to queue up for a table in the restaurant. The worst thing was that it was still raining a lot and there was not much space to be hidden by the rain so we got wet quite quickly. Furthermore, I didn't know that we had to take a number so we just stood there until somebody asked me which number we had and I was like "What?!". So he explained to me what I had to do and I entered the restaurant to get a number.
Fortunately, we came at a time when a lot of people finished eating and left the place, so we only had to wait about 30 minutes - which was already a lot, because we were wet and it was cold!
So finally we sat down at our table and I tried to explain as good as possible what there was to eat for my boyfriend, because he didn't speak Spanish and in restaurants like this one there was no menu. So he just pointed at something that looked good at another table and I ordered that. I ordered something for me, too, and some wine and after only 10 minutes our food was ready. I had already eaten in that restaurant twice so it was not new for me, but I was quite curious how my boyfriend would like the food.
He enjoyed it a lot and we even ordered some more food. We sat there for quite a long time, even if it was cold inside, too. We talked about a lot of things as we always did and I loved the time with him so much. It's always a mixture of laughing, discussing and (in my case) looking for the suitable word in French. After a while we ordered a dessert and paid the bill and finally we returned to our car. It had stopped raining fortunately but we went back to Puerto de la Cruz because we had eaten so much and wanted to relax a bit. Furthermore, we had to bring back the car into the garage as it was our last day, and the next day we had to bring them back the keys in the morning.
After having relaxed, my boyfriend wanted to cook for me, but as we were still tired we decided to go out and eat something in the city centre - we would be able to cook the next day, too. We found a cute little restaurant, had some pasta with seafood and enjoyed one of our last evenings together. I became sader and sader every minute that was passing by - time went so quickly with him! I felt like he arrived one day before..
After having eaten we went for a small walk around the city next to the sea and finally we went to a sports bar and played billard for some time. Of course, I won. Afterwards, we (or rather he) watched a football match and we had some drinks, before we finally went back to the appartment. We watched some TV, talked a bit and I cleaned everything up before we finally wen to bed - we had to be at the travel agency before 12 the next day to give them back the keys for the car. I couldn't sleep well because I knew that there was only one day left with my boyfriend and I didn't know when I would see him again..
