Finally, holidays!
After my diving experience there were only some days left until I would have a long weekend and my Dad and his girlfriend would arrive. I was already quite excited because I would have time to see a bit more of the island and I missed them a lot.
Thursday finally they would arrive in the evening. I had friday, monday and tuesday off, so I could really enjoy the time with them without working. I came back home from work and waited for their bus to arrive. They would stay in the hotel just in front of my house, so I could see if they arrive from my balcony. 2 hours later they arrived and I rushed down to the hotel lobby to say hello. I was so happy that they were there!
They came with another couple which were good friends of them, but I wasn't that excited about that, because they were a bit "difficult" from time to time and actually I wanted to have my Dad for myself and not make plans with them, too. But well, I couldn't do anything, so I was just happy that my Dad was there. There were some problems with the rooms and it already started to annoy me, but finally we went to have dinner in the restaurant. It was nice not to have to cook myself and to eat with my Dad and his girlfriend, talk about usual things, feel a bit like at home. After that difficult week when my appartment wasn't working and I knew that I wouldn't have internet, it was good to have them here.
We made plans for the next days (actually it was ME making plans, because they didn't know much about Tenerife and I wanted to see some certain things) and I was quite annoyed by the other one because he always thought that he knew better even if he didn't. Who was living here for alreadyd 3 months? Right, NOT him.
In the end we agreed that we would visit Loro Parque the next day in order to relax a bit first and to rent a car for the weekend, because I wanted to go to Teide.
The next day I went over the their hotel room in order to have breakfast. I got up at 8am to be there at 8:30 and they were still in bed!! So I waited over there for 30 minutes while they were getting ready for breakfast (always the same) and finally we went down to the restaurant. After breakfast I thought we would rent a car for the next days and go to Loro Parque afterwards, but of course - there was a problem with the other couple again! They had booked another room and wanted to change because there was a weird smell in their hotel room. So I had to go to the reception with them and tried to solve the issue. So they got offered two other rooms to look at and decide which would take a lot of time because they would have to move.
I was annoyed but I couldn't do anything so I told my Dad that i would already go out and ask how much a rental car would be while they went back to their room to get ready. I asked, came back and told them the prices. So my Dad came with me and we rent a car for the next day. The others were still not ready, so we had to wait another 30 minutes. It was already 1pm, so I was afraid that we wouldn't have enough time for Loro Parque and my whole plan would be destroyed.
But finally, they were ready and we could start to get the shuttle service to Loro Parque. I bought tickets at the hotel reception and we went there. With my Mum I had already been there, so I knew the nicest places. They didn't want to stay as long as I was with my Mum (and it was already 1 o clock as we entered the park) so I picked the most beautiful places and insisted to watch the Orca Show. It's always a logistic problem with four people to get around a park and satisfy all needs, so I was a bit stressed but I tried to ingore the others and concentrate on having a good time with my Dad. So we watched the animals, went to the orca show, ate something and got back to Puerto at about 6pm.
We got ready for eating in the hotel restaurant and afterwards we went a bit into the city centre. It was a bit boring because they didn't like the things I liked but well, the next day we would have a car and go to Teide so I didn't care. I couldn't wait to explore the most important and most famous part of the island!
