Appartment Search

So we arrived at the real estate agency and the lady there explained to me that the owner of my appartment had another appartment in Puerto which is almost at the same place as the old one. She gave us the keys and told where we had to go, she couldn't come with us because she had another client. So we walked to the building and entered the appartment. It was a little bit bigger than my old one, had a kitchen that was separated a bit and with a window which I really liked. But the bed was very small and uncomfortable and the overall appearance of the furniture and everything was not very nice. My boyfriend didn't like it neither.

So we decided to get back to the agency and ask her to show us some other appartments in order to compare our possibilities. The woman seemed to be stressed and not quite happy about that decision - of course, it meant more work for her - but I didn't care, I wanted to be more clever that time and see more appartments that the last time. So she started looking through the listings in her computer and found some that looked very nice. But almost all of them were already taken because it was high season for 1-room-appartments and within one day it was even harder to find anything. In the end she found three that might be a possibility. So we drove to the first one which was closer to my work and in the same building where the appartment of the other intern was. On the pictures it looked great and I was almost sure that it was my new appartment. But unfortunately somebody had already moved in... so we had to leave again. The other appartment was in the building next to my old appartment. Actually I didn't want to live there because the building seemed to be very ugly and old. But well. We arrived there and wanted to see the studio but the keys didn't fit - the owner had obviously changed the locks. The woman called someone but it wasn't possible to enter, so we had to go on searching and returned to the agency.

Finally, she found one 3 minutes away from my old appartment and we went to see it. I didn't like the building so much, it was a 13-floor-house, but maybe the appartment would look nice. And it really did! It was not completely new, but there was a laminate floor which is absolutely not typical for Tenerife, a nice large bed, a sofa and a separated kitchen. The balcony had been turned into a dining room and was closed by large windows. Unfortunately they were toned so you couldn't look outside without opening them. The bathroom was incredibly small and ugly but it was clean and everything seemed to work. The decoration was nice and a lot of light entered the appartment which I liked a lot. Even if it was not the perfect appartment, it was the best I've seen here in Tenerife so far. My boyfriend - usually quite critical - also liked it, and so I decided to accept living here. The next day I would have to come to the agency to sign the contract and move, but for now the odysee was finished and I could finally have some time with my boyfriend.

We returned to the old appartment because he had to to a phone call and later we strolled a bit throug the city. I was released because finally there was a solution, but I was also annoyed because I had to move the next day and even if it was only one street away we had to bring down everything 5 floors and then bring it up to the new appartment 4 floors. And I had to tidy up and clean and buy things that were missing in the new appartment etc. Furthermore I had to pay 900 euros the next day which I had to get at the bank first. I am sure, if my boyfriend wouldn't have been there I would have started to cry and never stopped. But it was very helpful to have somebody helping me, comforting me and telling me that it was not a big issue. He is the kind of person who can make a big, big problem to something very small and in that situation I loved him so much for doing that

The rest of the day we spent eating, watching people and asking in different travel agencies for a rental car. We found one very cheap offer, so we took a car for the next two days - would also be helpful for moving my things from the one to the other appartment.
