A lot of Goodbyes
And there it was, the day my mom would leave again, after one week. I was sad but at the same time I needed some time for myself again, because every day after 9 hours at work I came home, went directly to the hotel and came back at 11, slept and worked again. That was exhausting after 4 days. Furthermore, before there was the weekend with camping at the beach, my birthday.. so everything was a bit too much at that moment. Even if I knew, that I would miss talking to somebody in the evening and all those things, for the moment it was okay that she left.
So I had to say her goodbye in the office because she wanted to see where I was working and we decided that the last day would be the best occasion to do that. So we went to work together, my Mum discovered how much sports I had to do every morning an she saw where I was working. After 15 minutes she left in order to finish her luggage and go to the airport - so I had to say goodbye to her. In that moment it was okay as I already said, but I would be missing her anyway. So my daily life continued as usual. I went shopping with the girls, relaxed at the beach and spent most of the time working.
Then, one of the two other interns had his last day, we went to a restaurant and he explained the most important things I had to do after he left to me. I didn't know how I could do all those things without his help, but well - one is growing with challenges as everyone knows. The week after that a new intern was supposed to arrive, so we were all quite curious and I was happy that I would no longer be the one who arrived recently and was treated like a little child (even if I would still be the youngest person in the office, as everywhere...).
She arrived on Monday, with the HR woman as I did one month before, and it was like a deja-vu from another perspective. We welcomed her, she was shown around the office, the other intern and I explained her the most important things for the beginning. In the meeting she presented herself a little bit and had her first impressions from our work. But with explaining her things and helping her to understand what we were acutally doing, I noticed that I was feeling much more confident about what I've already learned during my first four weeks. I liked that feeling and it was like a new motivation for me to continue.
One week after that, the other intern that was there before me finished her internship as well. I really liked her and I was sad that she would leave, because I was still not convinced about the other intern. She seemed to be quite nice but well, you never know.
So it was the weekend before the two interns would leave the island and we decided to do something cool. One of them had a rented car, so we went into the mountains to a little village called Pinolere were a nice market would take place - full of food, handmade products and traditional things. The way to the village was breathtaking, the mountains were so steep that I really wondered how he could drive there. But everything worked out and after 30 minutes parking lot search we arrived and were ready to discover the market. It was amazing - it was a beautiful place with a lot of traditional products and handmade jewlery and clothes. We spent almost 3 hours there, before we decided to eat something and finally we left the market and went to another city which was between the mountains and Puerto. There, we took some nice pictures of the "interns-crew" and had a coffee and some very delicious cakes. When we got back to Puerto the others went to a Salsa Bar in the evening but as I really don't like dancing I stayed at home - it was already sunday and I had to work the next day.
So the week was as usual - working, cooking, sports and sleeping. Friday there was the last day of the intern, so we went to a cocktail bar in the evening to celebrate and say her goodbye. It was a nice evening, but anyway I would have preferred to have my internship together with her.
