Exploring Prague
The introduction
Hello everyone, I hope, that you are all doing just fine!
In this article I want to tell you about my experience in Czech Republic, and, well, basically, inPrague!
You know, Prague is a city of beauty! It’s a place, where everyone wants to go and sightsee, because everything there is so wonderful and gorgeous, that you won’t want to leave that city for quite some time, I mean, we were just there for a couple of days and we saw some things there, and, of course, we couldn’t really see everything, that is in Prague and for that you need quite the time, because it’s not a city that you can visit just for a couple of days, you should really live there for some time and get to know the city and then you might see many things in the city and move around and everything. it’s really an amazing place and everyone should visit it once in their lifetimes, because we only live once, you know, and that is the place, which is a must see, if you ask me. That is a place of beautiful architecture and people and natureand everything. you can not really say, that there is something, that you might not like in this city. I loved it in every bit of detail which I saw in those couple of days and I think, that you will love it, too.
Old town square
You know, when visiting a town or a city, everyone just goes to their old town and look around there. It’s one of the largest town squares in the world and it has been Prague’s main public square since the 10-th century. Many concerts and Christmas markets and fashion shows and things like that take place there.
You can see this Old Town Hall, which was founded in 1338and has a tall Gothic tower and a great Astronomical Clock. There’s also this place, which was blown by Nazis, when the soviet army went into the city.
Prague Castle
Prague Castle is the most visited place in Prague, I guess, because tourists just love it and, well, it’s the largest ancient castle in the world, as it’s said. Within it, you can see so many things there, that you can’t really have enough time for looking at all those things, however, you should definitely visit it and enjoy every little square metre there.
Charles Bridge
Well, this is a fascinating bridge, which you should see at dawn, because you will see at its most at that time of the day. You know, it was called just Kamenny Most, which translates like Stone Bridge just until the 19-th century and then there was this time, when they had it named after Charles the 4-th, who ordered to build a bridge there, well, actually, to replace the Judith Bridge there, which was kind of destroyed by floods and everything. Αnd it was 1357 when this happened, so that imagine, that it was not named anything until the 19-th century, in fact. There are many statues all over the bridge and they all are pretty significant, not to mention, that they are really wonderful pieces of art.
John Lennon Wall
And just southwest of Charles Bridge, you can see this John Lennon Wall, which is not anything left from him or something like that, I mean, John Lennon had never visited Prague, but there’s this wall dedicated to him and people just go there to take pictures and see it and everything, you know. So that, we went there, too, and it’s entirely free, of course, and it’s pretty efficient to visit it.
Czech Museum of Music
If you are visiting Prague in the first week of a month, and you want to do something for free, you should definitely visit the Czech Museum of Music, which allows people to enter it free of charge on the very first Thursday of each month and the entrance is from 2 p. m. to 6 p. m.
Strahov Library
This library is the largest monastic library in the whole country. It has two large baroque halls and they were built in the 17-th and the 18-th centuries and the halls are just wonderful. They are worth visiting and they are just one of those places, where you will enjoy being there. It’s not easy to express the feelings, that you get while visiting the library and you should just visit it and see everything yourself, so that you can understand the majestic environment there.
Prague Jewish Museum
This Jewish museum was established in 1906 and I wonder, how it is still “alive” after Germans and everything. It’s a museum worth visiting while being in Prague, because there are many historical things exhibited and one should definitely see them.
Anyways, there are all those other things, such as St. Vitus Cathedral dating back to the 14-th century, and the statue of Franz Kafka and things like that.
And you should go beer drinking, of course, and we went to taste the beer there and we really enjoyed it, I must say.
Well, there are many things that you can see in Prague and I can’t tell all about them and you should see them yourself, and, well, maybe you will even discover another Prague, that I haven’t seen there, I mean, I was just for a few days there and it’s not even a little bit enough for looking around the Prague, if you want to know the truth.
