Experience in Prague, Czech Republic by Lukas
How did the city of Prague seem to you to live in? Do you recommend it? How is the city?
It's a very pleasant city despite the slightly distant temperament of the people from Prague at first.
How is student life in Prague?
It's a very good atmosphere with many people on Erasmus but there are also lots of Czech students who speak English.
How are living costs in Prague?
It's an affordable city in comparison to some other capitals. Nevertheless, it's a more expensive city that the other Czech cities. The restaurants are affordable and the drinks are too, once you know the typical places.
Is it hard to find accommodation in Prague? Do you have any advice to give?
It's not very difficult to find a place to live but it all depends on budget. A Czech website like leboncoin.fr exists. It is annonce.cz for lettings between individuals.
How is the city's food? What are your favourite dishes?
There is everything in Prague. All the cultures are represented on a culinary level. My favourite dish is still the goulash - a typical dish from the East; however, it's different according to country.
Which places do you recommend to see in Prague?
It is recommended to see the city on the Vltava, which means to say doing a pedalo tour. It's something original and very amusing. In Summer, it is absolutely necessary to see the edge of the Vltava with the quays which are filled with ephemeral bars.

And to eat in Prague? Can you tell us your favourite places?
A typical brasserie is the loCal.
Which places would you recommend to go out in Prague?
There are lots of places for going out but my favourite places remain NEBe and Retro.
What advice do you want to give to future Erasmus students in Prague?
Go without prejudgement.
