What is it like to live in Prague? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Very lively international city with lots of beautiful architecture and landscape. One of the best European cities to live in.

How much does it cost to live in Prague?

You can find room in a flatshare in a range of 200-300 EUR per month all utilities included. But price depends on location and condition of the apartment.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Prague? Is there any advice you can give?

Depends on the season(after summer holidays and begining of year it's more difficult) and type of accommodation. The smaller the apartment (e.g. studio, 1+1..) you want to rent the more difficult is to find one - try to look at www.bezrealitky.cz. Quite common and not so trouble-some to find is flatsharing (look in facebook groups, expats.cz).

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Typical Czech cousine is heavy and fatty but worth trying. Czech style goulash, "Svickova" sauce with dumplings, roasted duck with cabbage and dumplings, pork knee with horseradish and mustard etc...

What places would you recommend visiting in Prague?

"The royal way" - route through historic Prague town with lots of sightseeing points. Starts at the Municipal house and Powder gate, leads through the Old town square and Charles bridge up to the Prague Castle. This route was taken by all the czech kings on their way to the coronation at the Prague castle. Warning: lots of tourists everywhere.

Is it good to eat out in Prague? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It's a great way to try out Czech cousine and meet the people. Lot's of people living in Prague eat out because it's not very expensive. Watch out for overpriced restaurants in the historic centre.

What advice would you give future students heading to Prague?

Go out, meet people, enjoy!
