What is it like to live in Prague? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Prague is the capital city of Czech Republic. I have lived here for 10 years and of course I see Prague simply like an ordinary city. But Prague is pretty European. It is full of history, sights, shopping centres... For not just young people Prague is ideal for parties, fun, night life, etc. It´s quite cheap and there is a lot of music bars and clubs with good music.

A room for rent in a shared flat is about 200 EUR (4000 CZK) it depends of the locality... Cheaper localities are Prague 4, Prague 5, Prague 10, Háje, Hostivař, Stodůlky, all close to metro.

No. You should try to look for the most favourable accommodation as elsewhere.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Czech cuisine is not my favourite. But for some people yes... Czech specialities include a lot of sauce with meat. Mainly pork and beef and with dumplings for example Svickova and Goulash. They have also soups like beef with liver dumplings, potato, garlic... Other dishes are potatoes, pasta or rice with meat, potato salad with chicken steak and more.

And of course you can find as everywhere French fries, pizza, Chinese food...

What places would you recommend visiting in Prague?

The main sights and places you have to see are: Old town square, the nice Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Petřin hill, Lennon wall, district Hradčany and Malostranska, Naplavka offers esplanade by the river Vltava and Sunday markets with fresh food. Also the night is very alive. You can buy tickets for Prague boats and Prague in general offers a lot of culture, art, theatres, cinemas, museums and galleries and exhibitions for example in Rudolfinum gallery, DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, Manes gallery, Dvorak Sec Contemporary, and many others.

The cheapest restaurants in my opinion are Beas Dhaba and Góvinda (vegetarian), Musketyr, Home Kitchen and Polévkárna.

Is the nightlife good in Prague? Where is good to go?

Yes, very good. It has music clubs with electro, dnb, alternative music and life concerts. The best clubs are Roxy, Sasazu, Lucerna music bar and Chapeau rouge.
