Experience in Prague, Czech Republic by Dominika
What is it like to live in Prague? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Prague is a very beautiful city. It's really touristic, but due to being smaller than other capitals it's a bit more relaxed. There are a lot of beautiful sights you must see. Cool and cheap places for foreigners to have a party and drink in pubs. Weather is fine, colder winters and beautiful spring and summer. It's a safe city full of things to do.
What is the student lifestyle like in Prague?
Cool, cheap, full of fun and parties.
How much does it cost to live in Prague?
It's really objective, but it's much cheaper than London, Paris, Berlin and so on, but maybe more expensive than Budapest, Bratislava, etc.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Prague? Is there any advice you can give?
It depends on if you are looking for a regular place to live or for students. If you are a student your university should offer you some options. It's not hard to find something.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Czech cuisine is very specific, but tasty. We have many kinds of dumplings, sauces and so on. My favorite is pork, dumplings and cabbage, chicken in a creamy sauce or a roasted duck with cabbage.
What places would you recommend visiting in Prague?
Sights: Old town Square, Wenceslas Square, National Museum, Vyšehrad Castle, National Theatre, Orloj, Prague Castle, Charles Bridge. Pretty nice parks to stay is Divoká Šárka or Stromovka. You should also go to Náplavka, it's a place by river where you can walk or sit with friends and drink beer during looking at a sunset with a beautiful view to Prague castle.

It's pretty good. There are all kinds of restaurants and cuisines.
Is the nightlife good in Prague? Where is good to go?
It's very good! You must go to Karlovy Lázně 5-floor club with many kinds of music and its very international, then Sasazu club, Retro Club, Nebe cocktail bar, Rodeo music bar, Duplex, Popocafepetl, etc. There are many good bars and pubs at almost every corner.
What advice would you give future students heading to Prague?
Try to find someone on Facebook or join the buddy programme. It's much easier if anybody shows you the city and gives good tips where to go :)
