What is it like to live in Prague? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

For me, Prague is a quite calm city even sleepy which at the same time has a lot of things happening inside. It gives a possibility to relaxed with amazing parks and at the same time to study, to visit exhibitions, go to parties and watch films - from recent till classic in lovely cinemas.

How much does it cost to live in Prague?

Prague is not very expensive comparing for example with Spain where I was living before. You can rent a room for 200-250 euro including gas and electricity. If you cook at home it's great. At the same time, there are quite chip cafes with and nice bars with beer for 1 euro and very often good coffee for 1, 5 euro (more or less).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Prague? Is there any advice you can give?

I think it may depend on the season and I could advise to make everything quiсkly if you liked the flat/room not to lose it. I see that good flats/rooms can be rented very quickly.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I liked nakládaný hermelín and some soups are good but my relationships with other traditional dishes are not great. What is good that Prague has a lot of places where you can find not only traditional things, there are many vietnamese restaurants, vegetarian cafes and restaurants with international. The same I can tell about shops with food - you can find here many things.

What places would you recommend visiting in Prague?

I would recommend to walk in Vinohrady & Vršovice a place with a lot of bars and stores, and Havlíček-Grébovka park. Also Petřín park is nice, Narodni galerie in Holešovice and theater Jatka 78. Vyšehrad is a beautiful place and down by the hill there is nice cafes.

Is it good to eat out in Prague? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Prague has a lot of nice cafes. I can definitely recommend cafe Sladkovsky, restaurant Jina Kraina, bistro Javanka with indonesian food and cofee place Cekarna with lovely garden.

What advice would you give future students heading to Prague?

I would advise to open yourself to new experiense and to see different parts of Prague which will tell a lot, not only city center (although it's nice). Prague is an international city and it's a great place to meet people from all around the world. Good luck!
