What is it like to live in Prague? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Prague is great. The city is full of attractive places and lots of international people come here to spend some time. The living costs are relatively low compared to western European cities. There are a lot of fun activities to do in Prague.

What is the student lifestyle like in Prague?

Students appreciate a rich student life including partying, student programmes and trips.

How much does it cost to live in Prague?

Not much, if you avoid ridiculous prices for tourists in the city centre... Housing, as well as groceries or transport cost are rather low. Especially prices in restaurants and bars are significantly lower than in western Europe. Draught beer in restaurants is extremely cheap (and good! ).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Prague? Is there any advice you can give?

It is worth to look for an accommodation together with other students. The accommodation provided by universities in their facilities is satisfactory, but it does not usually correspond with the price. In other words, one can find better accommodation for a similar price by himself/herself.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Depends. Anything can be found.

What places would you recommend visiting in Prague?

The downtown, Prague Castle and the old luxury quarters like Vinohrady, Karlín, Letná. There are many places that still look like an old village in Prague - parts of Zlíchov, Spořilov, Bohdalec, Vršovice etc.

Is the nightlife good in Prague? Where is good to go?

That depends on your preferences. There are many disco clubs that are famous around Europe. Alternative places include Crossclub and many small pubs, clubs and bars especially in the Žizkov quarter.

What advice would you give future students heading to Prague?

Always agree on the price before you get in the taxi (best to order a taxi via telephone).
