Experience in Prague, Czech Republic by Barbora
What is it like to live in Prague? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Prague is a great city and would definitely to live there because Prague has everything. You can find small bars which just Czech people know or pubs where they even cant speak Czech and it is full of tourist and expats. Prague is city of tourist and students and therefore there are lot of parties going on in the city. The fun life is probably on better side than I had encountered in USA, as there is less restriction what young people could do. In Prague you can also find a lot of activities for free (concerts, festivals, summer cinema..). Public transportation is also very good cheap and almost every time on time :-)
What is the student lifestyle like in Prague?
In the country where the beer is very delicious cheaper than water student life is very exhausting :-). as I mentioned before there are students party going on everyday. But maybe more than parties we like going to the pubs with our friends. We have often meal in the pub because compare to the other countries meals in pubs are affordable or most people would call it cheap (around 5 Euros). In Prague is also lots of students organizations, so it is easier to meet new people.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Prague? Is there any advice you can give?
It is not difficult at all. Prague is home for a lot of foreigners and therefore there are a lot of pages where you can search for an accommodation in English.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
I have to admit that typical Czech food is little bit heavy. We are dumplings nation. We love them and we have several types (bread, potatoes and we have even sweet dumplings). My favorite dish is Tatar steak which is raw meat with raw egg. Doesn't sound that good but tastes amazing. Typical Czech dish is called svickova and of course it is dish with dumplings. Another one is called bramboraky and we translate it as potato pancake.
What places would you recommend visiting in Prague?
I would definitely recommend visit all tourist attraction as Prague castle, Charles bridge...and milion more, because they are simply amazing. You can find these attraction in every guide book. But from what you don't usually find in the guide books are parks Riegrovy sady, stromovka, letna and divoka sarka, memorial vitkov and Troja castle with vineyard (in September you can enjoy early wine there).

Do not exchange money at the airport, don't take the taxi from the airport, we have very good public transportation. .. and sleep a lot before you come here because you wont have time to do it here :-), :-)
