What is it like to live in Prague? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

To live in Prague is like a history story. Usually people go with tour guides and they will show them just the places for interesting for tourist but our guide show us how look the real street in Prague. We enter on a small street cover with pavement from ancient time, big houses in different colours and also it was so quiet. Inside they have long and colourful curtains, with different objects in front of the window like flowers or candles.

Also we didn't stay in the centre of Prague, our hostel were 20 minutes far away by tram from Prague centre, so we live in an area where we can see the normal life of people there.

We were walking beside some small flats where usually live a lot of young couple and also a long street with small and nice houses. There are a lot of parks and during our time there we saw a lots of sport activities even when outside was cold.

But also during the night in Prague I don't think is so safe. If you go out of the centre, you will not see to much people walking even is just 9 a clock, but in the city centre you will see on the street a lot of foreigners who live there to make money, also some citizen. But we were scared because people there are allowed to drink on the street, for example in Poland is forbidden by the law. So they were drunk people walking in the night, also they were some of them smoking and usually they were walking in groups. So I believe during the night time Prague is not so safe.

I would recommend living in Prague, is a beautiful city and if you like a crowded city there you find it. People are nice and usually they are available to help you. Also can be noisy with a lot of foreigners. People there are not having a fashion style, everybody have their own style, nobody judge you of what you wear. Most of them they were dress so simple, not so elegant and everybody do want they want to do, even they running on the city centre street.

What is the student lifestyle like in Prague?

Student lifestyle will be interesting life. A lot of places to visit, to party and entertainment places like operas, museums or malls.

How much does it cost to live in Prague?

Living in Prague is expensive for a student. For example we spent 200 euros in 4 days just on food, tram tickets and paying for some access points. We usually eat just one meal in the city and the others meals we buy stuff from markets like Kaufland. A coffee there from McCafé was around 2 euros and one meal in the mall is around 5 euros. Our guide show us a cheap restaurant called Restaurant U Parlamentu.

Also to live there, we pay for hostel 60 euros for 4 nights, but the hostel wasn't so close to city center. If you want to stay in the city center an apartment can reach some millions of euros if you want to buy it.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Prague? Is there any advice you can give?

No. I think you can find a lot of offers outside of the city or in the city center if you want to to live there. We were stayed at a Hostel called, Hotel Alexandra".It was a nice place not so expensive and as I say we pay 60 euros for 4 nights but we sleep 4 people in that room. They were having just a microwave and kettle in the kitchen.

Is it good to eat out in Prague? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

If you are going out you gonna have many places like restaurants, mall or fast food places. As I say is not so cheap, but at the mall you can find a lot of different kind of food to eat Atrium Flora is an example. If you want to go at some restaurant the cheap one who will find in the city will be Restaurant U Parlamentu. Also as a desert I recommend to eat Ice cream sundae is very delicious. Go also and visit the market square you gonna find different varieties of Czech cakes or dishes.

Is the nightlife good in Prague? Where is good to go?

From my experience is not so safe to walk in the night in the streets of Prague. If you want to walk is good to be in a group. They have many club and disco where to go. I just want to let you to discover by yourself.

What advice would you give future students heading to Prague?

I advice them to enjoy the time there, to visit a lot of places and to spend time in the beautiful parks of the castle or in the city centre. Also to explore their culture and to learn more about their history. Czech Republic is well know for crusades and religious history. Just make this time worth it.
