Why did you choose to go to Prague, Czech Republic?

I chose Prague for its great location in Europe, the amazing architecture and the courses I could take there!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I study in Prague for one semester. I receive around 300 € from the Erasmus scholarship

What is the student lifestyle like in Prague?

Student life in Prague is great! The beer is very cheap, so you will propably be drinking a lot of that. It is nice to just go to a bar or a club. But also there are nice activities organized for erasmus students. If you are not that much into partying there also is a lot to do like going to cinemas, ballets/operas (for a great price) or for picknicks in one of the many parks. Many students, like me, like to mix it up a bit.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Prague to other students?

Yes, definitely! It's an amazing city and also Charles University is a quite good university.

What is the food like?

Czech people like to eat a lot of meat, bread and potatoes. Of course there are also many 'foreign' places to eat, for example vietnamese food is very big in Prague. In the supermarkets you can almost get everything you like to eat.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Prague?

It was not hard at all to find a good place in Prague. I heard from others that they had some trouble, but in general, everyone is happy with their accomodations.

How much does it cost to live in Prague?

My flat is 390 euros per month, but it really depends. You can also choose for living in the dorms, this is very cheap.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language is for me very hard to understand, but it is nice to just learn some basic words. The uni offers some czech language courses as well.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Prague from your city?

For me it was going by plane. The flight from Amsterdam to Prague is only one hour.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Prague?

I really like Lucerna on friday and saturday nights, they play 80s and 90s music.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Prague?

There are sooo many good places to eat in Prague.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Again, there are sooo many great things to see. Of course the tourist places are very nice, but also Vyšehrad and many churches are very nice.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Prague in the future?

Choosing for a semester in Prague is an amazing experience that I would really like to wish to everyone!
