How long is the scholarship?

My internship is approximately 3 months.

What is the student lifestyle like in Prague?

As a working student here in Prague, I would say that students are free to do almost anything that they want. It is a nice city that is open to foreigners. Adapting to the culture isn't that difficult. Also lots of clubs and bars are open during the week to go out or to just have a drink.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Prague to other students?

I would definitely recommend the city to other students. It is a really beautifull city that gives you a new experience every day!

What is the food like?

In Prague, you have different types of food. It is a very international cuisine. The food of the Czech Republic is mainly meat. You can also go and eat Vietnamese cuisine, Italian cuisine, French cuisine etc.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Prague?

I need to say that when finding an apartment in Prague, you need to be very careful. A lot of scamming happens and this is something that happened to me too. Always try to go and visit the apartment before ordering it through Airbnb and never pay through e-mail!

How much does it cost to live in Prague?

The cost of living in Prague is rather low. You can go and have a lunch for €6 or you can go and have a dinner for €10 per person. The prices are much lower than some other European countries.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The Czech language is very difficult for me because the charaters are very different then any other language. Language courses are definitely available!

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Prague from your city?

From my city (Bruges), by airplane was the easiest way for me. It only took 1h15. Busses and trains are also options if you want to save money.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Prague?

If you want to go out for dinner, I would recommend to stay away from the touristic places. You have a lot of areas where the food is cheap and good. Restaurants can be found on almost every corner of the street.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

You have the Prague Castle, the National Museum, the area Žižkov and Karlovo náměstí, the National Monument (Žižkov), Florenc & Křižíkova, little markets each weekend alongside the river....

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Prague in the future?

Just be aware of pickpockets and scam practices. Don't change your money on the streets or don't take any taxi you like. The taxi that can be trusted is (AAA taxi).

I would say that Prague is one of the beautiful cities I have ever visited. They are open for foreigners and is a magnificent experience!
