Why did you choose to go to Prague, Czech Republic?

Because I've been there a couple of times before and I really liked the city and I knew it wasn't expensive (except for the flat rent, that was a shock how high the rent was).

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

It's 400 euro per month for 5 months of my stay.

What is the student lifestyle like in Prague?

It's really great, the college isn't so hard and the entertainment opportunities are endless.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Prague to other students?

Yes.

What is the food like?

Czech food is nothing special and I don't like it too much but that's not the reason not to come here.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Prague?

Yes, the agent charges were 60% of one month rent, but I would recommend you to come to Prague for a couple of days in a hostel before and search for a flat then because over the Internet it's really hard and time consuming.

How much does it cost to live in Prague?

4 of us in a big two bedroom flat with huge living room and two bathrooms, in Prague 7 just near the Sparta stadium = a bit less than 300 euro per person per month. Food and beers are pretty cheap though.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are plenty of courses if you want to learn, and for the Slavic people the Czech language isn't so hard, but let's just say it ain't so easy.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Prague from your city?

Bus/train.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Prague?

Plenty of good bars: Popocafepetl, Hany Bany, Standard... .

Clubs: Harleys, Retro, Roxy, Chapeu Rouge.

And some bars with live music, I loved the cafe Na Pol Cesty.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Prague?

No. I mean for sure there are many but as a student I didn't go to some expensive ones. Chinese restaurants are pretty cheap, and I like one pizzeria/restaurant called Kmotra.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Old square, Prague Castle, Vysehrad...

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Prague in the future?

Go to the dorms if you can cause it's much more cheap (130 euro per month compared to almost 300 for the flat) and have as much fun as you can, you won't regret choosing Prague.
