What is it like to live in Podgorica? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I have lived in Podgorica my whole life. It is the capital city of little, but beautiful Montenegro. It has about 200 000 citizens. Throughout the year, except in July and August, Podgorica is the center of culture, entertainment, shopping, nightlife and other events. Generally, people in Montenegro are lazy; they like to relax, and to drink coffee all day long, so lazy people will love it! People are very kind and they will try to help you in every moment. It is not a really big city, so usually you will not need any vehicle in order to do your things. It will take you an hour and a half to walk from one side of the city to another. I would recommended Podgorica to young people, come visit us!

What is the student lifestyle like in Podgorica?

Student life is the best part of living in our country! It is not like Milan, Madrid, or Belgrade, but you will surely be satisfied with the lifestyle and you will enjoy studying in Montenegro. The classes at the university are about 2 or 3 hours long. There is a city library where you can spend time reading and learning. Students here like to party and have fun, so you can expect not the best, but a pretty good nightlife. Generally, it is a very cheap city, but there are places that are expensive and the salary (if you work) is not that good.

How much does it cost to live in Podgorica?

Like I said previously, Podgorica is generally cheap for people who have an average salary. Comments about prices from people that come from European countries are usually positive. There are a lot of places in town, so you will easily find a place that you can afford. You can find a nice room in an apartment for about 200 €, but it all depends on its location and if it has extra charges for any additional services.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Podgorica? Is there any advice you can give?

No, it is not. There are a lot of apartments and houses for rent and for sale. I would strongly recommend to get to some agreement with owner of the place you will live in.
