Why did you decide to go to Plymouth, Great Britain?
I chose to go to Plymouth because Plymouth University is a partner school of my University in Esslingen. I also wanted to improve my English.
How long do you get a grant for? How much monetary support do you get?
6 months. I didn't receive any money.
What is the student life like in Plymouth?
Great, nice people, funny evenings, parties.
Would you recommend the city and Plymouth University to other students?
Yes.
What is the national cuisine like?
It needs getting used to. Lots of white bread and fatty food - you have to pay more if you want to eat healthily.
How did you find your accommondation?
What is the price of accommodation like? And the prices in general?
At the start, I paid £300 and then £200 for a room in a shared flat.
Is the language easy to understand? Does the University offer language courses?
No, I could speak English before I went.
What is the cheapest way to get from Plymouth to your hometown?
From Stuttgart airport - Stansted (Germanwings) and then take the National Express from the airport to Plymouth.
In your opinion, where is the best place to party in Plymouth?
Barbican, Mutly, Uni Campus.
And to eat? Can you recommend a few good restaurants in Plymouth?
The fish restaurants in the Barbican are very good. There are also good Italian and Chinese restaurants.
Are there interesting cultural sights to see?
Mount Edgcumbe, Totness, Barbican, Hoe, Dartmoor, Cornwall.
Would you like to give any other tips to the other students who are going to Plymouth in the future?
I recommend it!
