What is it like to live in Pisa? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Pisa is a small city near to the coast and very well linked to the rest rest of the region and to the foreign as well thank to the international airport Galileo Galilei.
The city depends on the university: half of the citizens are students from different parts of Italy; there are also many erasmus students (about 4 or 5 hundreds per semester).
There are many libraries and big studying room, and the University in general is quite well organised.

What is the student lifestyle like in Pisa?

Pisa is a city to live in the street: there are many bars in Piazza delle Vettovaglie, some pubs to drink a good beer and Piazza dei Cavalieri, where the Università della normale is placed and where a lot of students meet at night.

How much does it cost to live in Pisa?

It is not very expensive: accomodation for 250/300 as much, and the costs in general are quite reasonables for students.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Pisa? Is there any advice you can give?

It easy to find an accomodation, for foreign students there is the ESN association which does housing for them.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is good and you can find it at a cheap price, furthermore there are many pizzeria.

What places would you recommend visiting in Pisa?

Piazza dei miracoli, piazza dei cavalieri, chiesa della spina, lungarni, le piagge, chiesa di san Paolo a Ripa d'Arno, Sant'Antonio neighbourhood

Is it good to eat out in Pisa? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

There many bars where you can take an "aperitivo" for 5/6 euros, to say having a drink and eating everything you want from a buffet, so it's a cheap way to have dinner outside ora just a way to meet before it, starting eating and drinking something. the best are Caino and Mimi.

Is the nightlife good in Pisa? Where is good to go?

Nightlife is good, even of there are not many clubs: acquaketa, reverse, Borderline where you can enjoy some ballad rock music.

What advice would you give future students heading to Pisa?

Discover the whole city, don't stop to the surface, try all the places, visit also the near seaside, and first of all, enjoy!
