Why did you choose to go to Pisa, Italy?

My choice (Pisa) was completly accidental but I don't regret it at all. Actually, I am really happy that I went to Pisa and not to other city that I chose in the beginning.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship last from the end of september till july. I received a normal grant and an additional one (due to my health condition), but basic grant was 320 euros.

What is the student lifestyle like in Pisa?

Italian nature is really relaxed. They have time for everything, treat students and other people with respect and serenity.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Pisa to other students?

Of course, I couldn't imagine any better city for Erasmus than Pisa. I know, is really small, but this is the point. If you are going with friends to the party to the club, you know you will find others Erasmus. Almost everywhere you can go by foot (due to this you save money and time on public transport).

What is the food like?

Food is really heavy, I mean full of fat, pasta, cheeses, etc. but very delicious. I love italian cuisine.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Pisa?

I don't understand the question but i will answer what I think. In the beginning I went to ESN office they and found few apartments and it was best idea to find a place. It was for free. I was searching before my arriving there but it was unnecessary.

How much does it cost to live in Pisa?

For me, a polish person, a lot. I was living with my friend in one room (double room) in the heart of Pisa. The apartment wasn't new one but I believe that atmosphere in a place is much more important. So I felt like at home.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I had every lecture in English so it was in the same time good and bad. I didn't have problem with passing exams but my level of italian language is really low (despite the fact I was attending a language course). 1st semester italian classes was for free and i could also attend English an course at my faculty.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Pisa from your city?

By plane. Pisa is very good place as it has airport really near to the city center (30 min on foot). This is also very important, as many Erasmus students were travelling a lot without wasting time and money to go to the airport.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Pisa?

It depends what kind of music people like. For those one who prefer commercial music (and similar) Akuaketa, for rock's fans Borderline. But there are also many other nice bars (like Bazeel and Milibar). Pisa is very student city (and of course Erasmus), that is why people often organize parties close to the university, like open air concerts.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Pisa?

I don't know restaurants. Almost always I was eating or at home or in mensa (student canteen).

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Of course, linning tower and for Pisa that's all. Florence, really close, worth visiting.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Pisa in the future?

Party, Travelling, making new friendship and a little bit of study. As I as in the beginning italian nature is similar to spanish so relax, take your time, and we will do it 'mañana'.
