What is it like to live in Pisa? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Pisa is a small city(more like a town) but filled with students. So has the advantages and disadvantages of a small city.
What is the student lifestyle like in Pisa?
Pisa is a student-city so if you're a student you want to have fun you can stay out for a drink, there are a few spots where everybody gather and socialize, and almost everyweek end you can find a party.
How much does it cost to live in Pisa?
You can find a room in a shared apartement for350 euro average but it really depends on where you're staying and how is the condition of the house. It isn't cheap but it's a lot cheaper than other bigger city in Italy like Roma or Milano.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Pisa? Is there any advice you can give?
There is usually some student who is leaving or coming in Pisa so there is a lot of turnover therefore it's easy to find some accomodation but it's also true that Pisa lives on students and so the landlords take advantage of this situation.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food is good and if you're not italian the food is even better :)
What places would you recommend visiting in Pisa?
Probably "piazza dei cavalieri" is usually full of young people on the week end evenings. if you love beer "Orzo Bruno" self-made-beer pub is great. if you love vynil and hiphop SanAntonio42.
Is it good to eat out in Pisa? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
You can find cheap but good kebap in via san Francesco, ora at the beginning of borgo largo. You can find "sgabeo"(fried sandwiches with cold cuts), also you can find a lot of tipical tuscany restaurant wich are very good but a little bit more expansive.
Is the nightlife good in Pisa? Where is good to go?
Nightlife is not bad, a lot of people meet at Piazza delle vettovaglie in borgo, wich is full of pub and restaurant or in largo ciro menotti.A lot of students party and some discopub like ex-wide in via san martino or ex-cinema Lumiere.
What advice would you give future students heading to Pisa?
Go and have fun!..and if you're drunk in Pisa the last place you want to fall asleep on is the "spallette" by the Arno river..
