As a traveller who loves foods, today I will introduce you to some famous foods in Cambodia.

It is very interesting that for a Vietnamese student like me, I can find out the interesting thing about Cambodia cuisine as Cambodia food is influenced by Vietnamese food and Thai food.

I have been in two cities in Cambodia: Phnom Penh and Siem Riep. It is my great fortune to try and learn a little about Cambodia food.

  • Lap Khmer - Khmer lemongrass salad 
  1. Book chrouk - pork rice

    appearing in every corner of the country across Cambodia early in the morning, chrouk chow, or simply pork rice, is one of the finest and simplest dishes in the country.


    Sliced pork, grilled through charcoal to keep the natural sweetness of meat. Occasionally, marinated pork with coconut milk or garlic, depending on the region. Therefore, you will encounter chrouk book with many different flavors.

    Chrouk leaves also include rice, cucumber and radish, accompanied by ginger and a bowl of broth with fresh onion and non-aromatic dry onion.
  2. Fish Sauce

    you will not find where the fish-flavored type of fish is like in Cambodia, because slok ngor is used locally to create bitterness.   4. Lap Khmer - Khmer lemongrass salad

    A refreshing dish with more beef than salad, lamb Khmer, is very popular, especially the beard in Cambodia. They like raw beef. However, most restaurants roast pasta before making salad. Khmer lemongrass beef salad with sliced beef slices or baked with lemon juice. Mix together lemon grass, onion, garlic, fish sauce, basil, mint, cowpea and fresh pepper, beef for sweetness, salty enough and add some spicy chili pieces.
  5. Nom chu Khok - Khmer noodle soup

    Nom Khok can simply be called Khmer noodles. This dish is commonly eaten at breakfast, or is sold by street vendors in lanes across the street. Dishes include rice noodles, green curry with fish, lemon grass, turmeric and lemon. Fresh mint, cowpea, banana powder, cucumber and some other green vegetables are also served with chok chum. There are also red curry chokes, but usually only appear in celebrations, festivals and weddings.

    Fried crab is a specialty of Kep town, Cambodia. The famous crab market is well known for its omelets and Kampot green pepper.   • Orussey Market is one of the most crowded markets in Phnom Penh. Visitors to the market often find to enjoy Brohet, a snack made from pork, crab or other members, then wrapped in powder or fried, then skewered. You can find this dish at the stalls to the west of the market. The price is also very cheap, priced at $ 3 Brohet spoons with vegetables, a great value to try.
  • Psar Kab Koh Restaurant
  • Psar Kab Koh Restaurant is not located in the tourist area, located near the river, with many small, densely populated villages. This restaurant is a family restaurant that has been around for a long time, most of the customers are Khmer people.   • Samnang means good luck, this restaurant will really satisfy the most demanding customers by the variety, variety of dishes. Coming to the restaurant you can easily find Cambodian specialties and many other delicious dishes for you to choose from. Another plus point for the restaurant is the professional and enthusiastic service staff, English fluent communication.
