A list of the ten Instagrammable spots in Paris:

    The Eiffel Tower (Trocadero):

The number one place many people want to take a picture for the gram is obviously in front of the Eiffel Tower! After all, there is no Paris without this famous tower. Now because of its towering height, the Eiffel can easily be seen from almost any part of the city. However, there is one place where practically everyone goes to take pictures of the Eiffel tower! And that is the well- known Trocadéro. The square is almost always crowded but it is not impossible to get a shot without people in your photos. You have to be patient and wait around a bit to get The Shot. Or you can beat everyone in the morning by sacrificing some sleep and getting to Trocadéro at sunrise! You are not only guaranteed pictures without people but you will also capture some spectacular sunrise shots! If you walk further down, you will come across a lawn area where you will find people picnicking and admiring the stunning fountain in the center of the lawn. This also makes for a great shot in front of the Eiffel. And walk a little further down to the left, you will come across a carousel. You can use this Merry-go-Round to stand and have the Eiffel as your backdrop! I have yet to take a picture like this but it is definitely on my list! I am positive it will make an aesthetic picture! You can access the Trocadéro square by taking Line 6 and getting off at the Trocadéro stop.

    Jardin du Luxembourg:

I love this botanical garden! It is easily accessible if you take the RER B (blue line) and get off at the Luxembourg station. It is such a beautiful park to wander around, picnic with friends, sunbathe on the reclined chairs put out for those who want to relax, and watch the mini sailboats in the central pool right in front of the magnificent Luxembourg castle. The sailboats can be rented for 4 Euros/ 30 minutes and you can get one that represents your country; there is a flag protruding from the top of the sailboat. The children seemed very excited about sailing their boats off into the pond and watching theirs collide with other sailboats. As a grown-up, I enjoyed seeing the flags of different countries and trying to guess which flag belonged to which country. Also, often times when the weather is really nice, there are also concerts organized and played by local musicians and orchestral bands. So grab a chair at the Luxembourg gardens and enjoy the beautiful ambiance it has to offer! The park is pretty big so there are many parts where you can take spectacular shots. And here is one that I took in front of the stunning Luxembourg palace.

    The Louvre glass -pyramids:

This square is undoubtedly one of the most popular places in Paris! I have been to this lovely courtyard several times since living in the City of Light and I have never seen it empty. There was a huge snowstorm back during the month of April when my family from the U. S. was visiting, and for obvious reasons, they wanted to visit the Louvre. Even though it was snowing pretty badly and the weather was freezing, there were still a good number of people hanging out by the pyramids and taking pictures! The pyramids also serve as great backdrops during the night hours since they light up. In order to get to the Pyramids, you need to take the metro line 14 and exit on the Pyramides stop. And from there, it is only a 5-minute walk.

    Galeries Lafayette Haussmann:

This is a place where some people are dying to check out when they visit Paris, but then there are others who could care less about it! I will be honest and say I had no idea this shopping center even existed until it had been a couple of months since I had been living in Paris! Facepalm, right!? So when I first visited this department store, it was around Christmas time when Printemps was holding its annual Christmas decorations display show. There was a huge Christmas tree, made out of balloons in the shape of different types of candies. The tree was hanging from the middle of the dome of the Galeries Lafayette building, something many people go to see during the holiday season, including myself.

The place is decked out and definitely one of the most luxurious shopping centers I have ever been to in my life. It is very grand and makes for nice pictures. There is also a rooftop where I have heard raving reviews about the view. I have yet to experience it for myself but when I do, I will make sure to share it on my blogs! The Galeries Lafayette can be found right above the Auber station, which can be accessed through Line A (red line).

    “La Cure Gourmande” in Montmartre:

A great place to shop for authentic French sweets and cookies. The inside of this shop is super cute but the facade is something that immediately caught our eye. My sister and I stumbled upon it while we were on our way to the Sacré Cœur church. You cannot miss it since it is a vibrant yellow color! It definitely stands out amongst the other pale white buildings. It was snowing and raining when we accidentally came across this cute sweets shop and it was honestly probably not the best time to be walking uphill but I am glad we did otherwise, we would not have found this aesthetic place! I had my sister walk slowly in front of the store with her newly purchased “Paris” umbrella (from one of the many souvenir shops on the same street). It took me a few shots to achieve the following picture because people kept getting inside the frame but we were finally able to capture it! I was pleasantly surprised by how it came out since there was sleet but it was definitely Instagram worthy! You can access this small shop by exiting at the Anvers station, which you can get to by taking the metro line 2. You can also take line 4 and get out at the Barbès- Rochechouart station but you will need to walk about eight more minutes from the station.

    The Moulin Rouge:

One of my favorite spots in Paris to take a picture! I watched the movie like a hundred times when it first came out back in 2001. I was around ten years and I am pretty sure it was not age- appropriate but my best friend back in elementary school had just gotten it for her birthday and we were obsessed! The songs were so catchy and romantic, and we admired the love connection between Nicole Kidman’s and Ewan McGregor's characters. Thus, it was only appropriate I take a photo in front of the red mill! Actually, since my arrival in Paris, I have taken several photos in front of this magnificent red building! My husband and I posed in front of it the first time we saw it (yes, I made him).

And another time, I was there with my family and it was snowing (the same day as the Louvre pyramids), which made for amazing pictures! Just look at these snowflakes!

I just love how the snow and the redness of the Moulin Rouge gave a romantic feel to my picture. If you would like to take some nice shots for the gram, take the metro line 2 and get off at the Blanche station. The famous red mill is situated only 300 feet from the metro exit so it is impossible to miss!

    Saint-Étienne-du-Mont de Paris:

This church is located right next to the Pantheon. You can even see it in the background of my photo. The steps pictured right behind me are very popular and they might also be familiar to you if you have watched the movie ”A Midnight in Paris”. It is the very spot where Owen Wilson’s character comes to reflect on his work and the city of Paris. It is situated next to the street where the vintage car picks him up and he is taken to meet Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Gertrude Stein! There are numerous ways to reach this cool spot but the best way is to get off at the Luxembourg stop on the RER B (blue line) and then walk to the church. It should take at most 10 minutes to walk this distance.

    The Wall of Love:

This is another cool place in Montmartre to take an Instagram worthy picture. You can access this popular touristy spot by taking the metro line 12. Make sure to exit out at the Abbesses stop and the landmark is located right outside of the Metro station. It is erected inside the Jean Rictus Square so there are also some benches where you can sit and relax. The Wall of Love was created by the calligraphist, Frédéric Baron, and the creative artist, Claire Kito, in the year of 2000. The phrase “I love you” is written in every single language! At least to my knowledge... I speak a language many have never even heard of: Uzbek, and the phrase, “Mensenisevaman” was written on the Wall of Love so I am going to take a wild guess and assume that this phrase has been written in all 250 languages of the world.

    Arc de Triomphe:

Now this is one of the most well-known landmarks of Paris. It is situated in the 17th Arrondissement, on Avenue des Champs Elysées. You can reach this stunning piece of architecture by taking the RER A (red line), metro lines 1, 2, and 6. The closest metro station, Charles de Gaulle- Étoileis super close and you can exit from right under the Arc de Triomphe. Unsurprisingly, this place is always crowded so it is very difficult to take a photo without having photobombers in your shots. There is a spot in the middle of the road when crossing Champs Elysées where people line up to get pictures. It can be quite dangerous as there are cars constantly passing. (Also, a cool fact regarding the Arc de Triomphe, if one ever gets in a car accident in the roundabout surrounding the Arc de Triomphe, he/she is responsible for his/her own expenses! So even if it was not his/her fault, he/she will still have to cover their own expenses. How insane is that?! Apparently, there were so many car accidents taking place in this infamous roundabout that the insurance companies finally had to come to this unfortunate decision). By the way, a solution to photoshop out people from your pictures is to blur out the background so the focus is on you! Like this pic:

You can also use the Snapseed photoshop application, which you can download from the App Store for free of charge. It has some very useful tools to cut out unnecessary objects and subjects out of your photos.

An antique vintage car shot by Sacré Cœur:

This antique orange car is usually parked right on the back street of the Sacré Cœur. It makes for great pics as it gives a vintage feel with the cobblestones. With this shot, I feel like I went back in time and captured the "old" Paris. Montmartre would have to be my favorite district of Paris as it represents the old, historic and artistic side of the city. You can arrive at this very spot by taking either metro lines 2, 4, or 12. For line 2: exit at the Anvers station and you will approach the Sacre Cœur from the carousel. There are mini cable cars, which are free if you have your metro pass/ticket. For line 4: exit from Château Rouge and from there, it is about a half a mile. For line 12: exit from the Lamarck - Caulaincourtstop and it is about the same walking distance!

This is by no means an exhaustive list of the most Instragrammable places in Paris! I have been able to capture some great shots in these very places and thus, I thought it would be an awesome idea for me to share them with you. There are so many other places in Paris which are equally worthy of mention. So, please keep an eye out for another similar post dedicated to the other Instagrammable spots in the city of love!
