Why did you choose to go to Oslo, Norway?

I chose to go to Oslo because I'd never been to Scandinavia.

How long is your stay? How much financial support do you receive?

I'm staying 6 months in Oslo and I receive €200, which is 2000KR, per month.

What's the student atmosphere like in Oslo?

The student atmosphere is great but only with exchange students, not with the Norwegian students.

Would you recommend the city and the university of Oslo to other students?

I would recommend the university because it's a very very good school and the classes are really interesting but I wouldn't recommend the city at all because it's way too expensive for students.

What's the food like in this country?

It's rubbish. It's very very expensive in Norway.

Did you have any trouble finding a place to stay in Oslo?

No because the university offers many options for accommodation.

What's the cost of living in Oslo?

TOO expensive. If you're a student, it's way too expensive, especially if you have no other grant than Erasmus. The cost of living in Oslo and in Norway in general is ridiculous.

How has your language learning been going? Have you gone to any classes organised by the university?

I haven't been to any language courses at the university because you had to pay for the classes and I couldn't afford it. But I can say some basic phrases.

What is the most economical way to get to Oslo from your home town?

I am in Oslo currently so I don't really know the answer to that question.

What places would you recommend for a night out in Oslo?

I would recommend 3 clubs for people who like electro:

  • Blå
  • Javier
  • Villa

And for eating in Oslo? Where are your favourite places?

My favourite places are at home and nothing else because food costs way too much in restaurants.

And what cultural visits would you recommend?

Nationalgaleriet.

Any advice for future students in Oslo?

If you come to study in Oslo, come ready with a large amount of money to live off, but it is a nice city especially thanks to all the exchange students you'll meet. Try to travel to as many countries as possible, certain flight companies do some great deals (€35 return flights for Paris and London).
