Oslo

Day 1: July 31

Today we flew from Amsterdam to Oslo. My first time flying from Amsterdam Schiphol. This airport is huge: easy to get lost in! The flight and train ride went smoothly.

After checking in to the hotel (Citybox) we went exploring the city. We walked along Karl Johans gate: a long street in the middle of Oslo. We saw many shops and sculptures. Following this road, we came across the National Theatre and the Royal Palace. Both buildings are stunning and have a beautiful architecture.

Afterwards, we walked to Vigelandsparken: a huge park with a lot of sculptures. Then, we visited the Akershus fortress and Aker Brygge: a nice neighbourhood full of dining places with a view over the water. It was a good first day. Can't wait to see what will follow!

Day 2: August 1

A day filled with traveling. We spent 8. 5 hours in total on the train and bus to Stavanger. Definitely something I would recommend: to take the bus and train to Stavanger. Not only are the trains very comfortable, and there is coffee and tea for free, but the views are beautiful as well. In the public transport, you have more chances to see everything, enjoy the views and notice the little things, whereas traveling by car, you have to pay attention to the road and you are mostly on the highways.
